No, permissions are not affected by the conversion. Anyone that was able to access the mailbox beforehand will still be able to do so. If you want to prevent unauthorized access, review and remove permissions as needed.
Converting shared mailbox to user
Hi,
Hope you're well!
When converting a shared mailbox to a user account - would the users who had access to the shared mailbox lose access upon converting?
This article doesn't mention it. I would assume they would no longer be able to access the mailbox once it's converted?

Thanks!

- Navigate to https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/#/mailboxes
- Search for the inbox you would like to manage.
- Click on the "Display Name" to open the options menu.
- Select the "Delegation" tab.
You should be able to add / remove anyone you need from each section to specify access.
(NOTE: It will take time to replicate the permissions. So you may need to double-check your after an hour or two.)
