allow migration to a virtual machine host with a different processor

For some strange reason this option gets removed randomly. From time to time when I need to set a HyperV host in maintenance it fails due to the error :

The pending move for the role 'VM' did not complete.

Then I check the compability mode and the check mark is removed for a lot of our virtual machines and I have to power down the VM, change the compability to allow and start the machine again on a operational cluster... a side effect of this is that if a host fails it is not able to migrate the virtual machines to another host automatically..

Any ideas why this happens.?

(Server 2016 and Server 2019 cluster)

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having issues related to VM processor compatibility mode.

    1. Please run Cluster validation Wizard and check all health of both 2016 and 2019 Cluster.
    2. Do you have any VM or Hyper-V Backup configured , If yes try to exclude this VM from backup.
