windows 11 22h2 snapscan scanner not working

after updating to 22h2, my fujitsu scanner 6110 no longer able to the scansnap software, as it is showed the device is not connected, while it is connected in the device manager, and i am able to use the build in windows scanner software.

I have a similar problem. ScanSnap suddenly stopped working. I use ScanSnap Manager to run my Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500. The OS is Windows 10, and after updating to version 22H2, Manager could not even be started. After running System Restore to a time before the 22H2 update, the scanner worked normally.

Note: Attempting to run System Restore from within my normal Windows account failed. To get it to work, I booted from a Windows 10 installation flash drive, selected the Repair option (Be careful not to reinstall Windows by mistake!), and then ran System Restore from there.

I alerted Fujitsu support, but their reply was unrelated to my problem. I told them as much, and I am waiting for a more relevant reply.

On the Fujitsu support website, ScanSnap Manager is still there, but they have introduced ScanSnap Home as their latest software for this scanner. I have not tried ScanSnap Home, so I don't know if it has the same incompatibility with 22H2.

This has to do with scansnap ix 1500 and Windows 11 after 22h2 update. Symptoms were with USB and scansnap cover raised usb would keep giving unknown device. ScanSnap home would show scanner not attached. After uninstalling and reinstalling would work until next reboot.

Here is what I did to fix the issue.

One --uninstall scansnap home and then restart computer when prompted.

Two --go to program x 86 folder and delete the PFU folder.

Three reinstall latest scanssnap home software for ix 1500. At one point it will ask you to turn on the scansnap and connect the usb cable and raise the cover. IGNORE THAT and look for connect without using USB cable and mouse click on that option.

Four go through the wifi menu and setup wifi.

Five once connected using wifi you will no longer need the usb cable hookup and you will no longer have the issue after restarting.

For some reason 22h2 makes it where the usb driver is blocked or not able to be loaded properly

The wifi driver is rock solid with the wifi install and problem using windows 11 is gone permanently.

Please try the followings:

1>Turn off your ScanSnap, wait at least 5 seconds and then turn it on again.
If the icon status is not changed, unplug the USB cable from the computer or your ScanSnap, wait for 5 seconds, and then reconnect the USB cable.

2>If your ScanSnap is connected via a USB hub, try connecting your ScanSnap directly to the computer via the USB cable.

3>Try with another USB cable if any.

4>Try another USB port.

5> Run ScanSnap Support tool.

6>Reinstall the driver. Delete the device driver from the Device Manager > Reboot > Reinstall updated driver.

7>Uninstall and install ScanSnap Manager again.

already tried all those, and not working. the scanner works fine with other software, but not with the default scansnap software.

Did anyone come up with a fix for this? I spent over an hour with tech support and the tech seemed unaware of the issues with this update. She ran me through all the standard troubleshooting steps that, for the most part, I had already tried.

well, there is no solution to the snapscan, i contact the help as well. My work around is to use the paperstream, which works fine.

Thanks. My problem is a bit more extensive. Windows 11 doesn't even recognize the device and refuses to add it. My solution is to rollback to the previous version while I still can. Glad you found a fix!

well, if you use the later device driver (not the factory ones from the scanner), it should work with windows 11.

There is an option to go from ScanSnap Manager (no longer updated) to ScanSnap Home, but I'm leery about making one more change right now. Also, this was definitely not the only thing 22H2 broke on my computer. :-( Thanks for the suggestion, though.

i see, then your situation is different from mine. as my scanner is not even supported by the scansnap home..
