Visual Studio 2017 Community Renew License on Win7

This is a question for Visual Studio Community 2017 version. a relative previous version on old OS: win7

Recently, VS noticed that my license will expire in 4 days. I tried to renew the license, but the problem is,

the browser opened by VS is very old (IE 8 in Win7), then error msg shown:

browser is not latest or install Edge (something like). I installed Edge browser and set it to the default browser,

but the browser opened by VS is still IE8. and login process failed.

so, my question is: Is it possible that renew license just by directly inputting the URL in Edge browser ?

Community version is a little different from other versions, as it is free. You didn’t purchase the subscription online in Microsoft Store or other places, so as far as I know, it won’t work. You still need to update the license by clicking options/buttons in Visual Studio. Try to check this link: https://my.visualstudio.com/subscriptions in case it works.

Besides, as you know, Windows 7 is an old and end-of-support operating system. If it is possible, I recommend updating to use a higher version of Windows OS, like Windows 11.

BTW, I tested on my side, with VS 2017 and Edge which was set as the default browser, but using Win10, VS 2017 started Edge correctly.
