Printer stopped working since September

Hi, I have a Canon Pixma725 and it last printed successfully on 17th September. Then when I tried to use it again on 27th it's not been recognised. The scanning function worked. I've tried all the usual restarts, uninstalling and re-installing, using the original disc and the drivers from the Canon website, deleting print spool etc. All to no avail. I've looked to see if there's an update I can delete that matches up with the dates, but nothing seems to tally up. Any suggestions you can offer would be gratefully appreciated.
Kind regards,
Nic Hodgkinson

    Hi,
What is the status of the printer in your printer list once you have installed the driver?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I currently have Canon MX720 Series Printer (Copy 1) as the default, which just says error under status and Canon MX720, which says needs troubleshooting and driver error. I've tried troubleshooting several times, and reinstalling the drivers from the Canon website and the original disk but with no success unfortunately.
