Use different custom Active Directory user properties as department name for Skype for Business clients

We have modified the Active Directory schema and added a longer text property for holding the UTF-8 department names called ERP-Department. I was wondering if it is possible to change the Skype for Business server default mapping to show the departments names from the new custom field.

What is your meaning of department name for Skype for Business client? Do you mean the user's profile department like the following picture?

Yes that is what I mean. We added another longer text field in the schema for the user object and are using a script to update it with user departments names which are large UTF- values and need to display user department in Skype for Business based on this field.

If so, you could directly change it from the Active Directory user.
