In tutorial https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/app-service/quickstart-java?tabs=tomcat&pivots=platform-windows-development-environment-azure-portal

GitHub account: Log in to your GitHub account.
Organization: Select your organization.
Repository: Select java-docs-spring-hello-world.
Branch: Select tomcat.
it is advised to select tomcat in branch but that option is not coming in the portal instead main is coming while doing configuration in deployment tab.

Is the repository you forked public?
Please double check that the correct repository is selected.

The documentation seems correct as the tomcat branch appears to be present in the repositories pointed to by the documentation.

Ok so while forking it gives an option to tick- fork with one branch only(main). this is ticked by default. So I was having the problem. After unticking it, the problem is gone.
