Compliance Recording for Microsoft Teams

Hello,

I found that in Aug 2020 there is a new Office 365 SKU called Teams Advanced Communications seems related to Compliance Recording. However during our recent trial tenant, we found that we only assign a user with E5 and we still can create Compliance Policy and grant to the user and also do the compliance recording with a 3rd party Recorder Server (we tested with Verba, the recording can feed to the Recording server without this Advanced Communications SKU)

What is the point of this Teams Advanced Communications license SKU? Is it included in the Office 365 E5 or E3?
Local Microsoft Hong Kong representative seems could not answer our enquiry...

Many thanks guys.... hope you can answer us.

Best Regards,
Vincent

    @TAM WING SING ,

    The difference of compliance recording policy between Advanced communications and other subscription is that Advanced communications have your compliance recording policy automated, and become part of the communication workflow, without the need for manual intervention.

    Advanced Communications provides enhanced calling and meeting capabilities that address a spectrum of communication needs.

    Keep in mind that Microsoft does not enforce licensing requirements in code for many features, but while a given feature might work without an appropriate license, using it still constitutes a license violation. That said, the Advanced comms SKU is a separate add-on SKU you need on top of E5.
