Hi all,

I want to migrate my workload from onpremise datacenter to Azure. Workload is below:

• Database layer consisting of both MS SQL 2016 and Oracle Linux 12 databases

• Application/Mid-layer consisting of a self-developed . Net application running on Windows servers

• Front-end consisting of a cluster of stateless IIS web-servers

My company has an Azure AD tenant with adconnect configured in azure, but no resources deployed yet.
Workloads consist of several databases and Windows Server virtual machines which are in scope for moving to Azure. Additionally, we have a read-only Windows Domain Controller that needs to remain on-premises.

My questions are:

1- What is the best practice for the migration assessment?
2- How should I make a plan and migration when assessment is ready?

Regards

Hi @HASSAN BIN NASIR DAR For all SQL workloads, you can use ADS Migration extension DMS v2 for assessments/SKU recommendations and data migrations to all three targets (SQL VM/MI and SQL Db)

For Oracle workloads, you can use the SSMA tool for assessments. are you planning to move Oracle workloads to Azure target? If you are planning migrate from Oracle, you can move to any of the below targets using SSMA

Please let me know if this information helps
