I have two laptops, one Windows 10 and one Windows 11, where Win10 can use Remote Desktop to access Azure VM after installing Azure VPN, but Win11 does not; The installer and certificate are identical, win11 shows that the VPN is connected, but it cannot connect to the Azure VM remotely

I understand that you are facing issues with Azure P2S VPN on Windows 11

I don't think so this is related to OS version.
It should have something to do with the local firewall of your client machine.

Please try the following, and let me know if they help.

Re-download the VPN client configuration from the Portal and re-install it to the Windows 11 machine

Try using Azure VPN Client app from Windows Store

After connecting to the VPN, open CMD as Admin and run "ipconfig/all"

Make sure you see the PPP Adapter for your VPN VNet

From the Portal, check if the device is listed or not under "Point-to-site Sessions"

If there are any local Firewalls enabled at OS level, I would suggest you to disable them and give it a try

May I ask what authentication method and protocol are you using for your P2S VPN Connection?

To understand if the packets are reaching the VPN gateway or not, please follow these steps,

Connect both the Windows 10 and Windows 11 remote devices

Try to ping one device from the other and see if you are getting any reply.

Open Powershell as Admin,

Run, tnc 10.0.0.6 -p 3389

Run, tracert 10.0.0.6

Run, ping 10.0.0.6

And share the outputs.

Hi @Tide Chen ,

Can you also do a ping test from Win11 device to Win10 device using the P2S IP? (After connecting them both to the VPN Gateway)

From the analysis, I do not think this is an issue with VPN gateway, because, we can see that the server is getting an IP allocated from the P2S address pool.

To troubleshoot the exact issue, I think we will need a specialized 1:1 session, where a support engineer can have a screen share session to pinpoint the issue.

Hello there,

I have found some similar threads where the same topics have been discussed and maybe this might be something to do with Windows 11 and need to be reported to the Microsoft team.

Is the VPN gateway responding on Port 443?

-Please make sure there are no NSGs or UDRs in the Gateway subnet
-Can you please check if the VPN gateway is in a Succeeded Provisioning state (you can check this under Properties blade)
-Make sure the IP you are using is correct and on par with the VPN gateway

The below thread discusses the same issue and you can try out some troubleshooting steps from this and see if that helps you to sort the Issue.
