I tried both existing db and new db, same error.

Any idea?

Thanks

You are attempting to use a version of SSRS that is not compatible with the SQL Server database you have installed. You need to install the version of SSRS that is tied to the version of SQL Server you're using. If you go here then in the Version section on the left select your version of SQL Server that you are going to install the DB to. Then on the right side it'll provide a link to the SSRS version you need.

If that doesn't solve your problem then please provide us information about your SQL Server install including version and edition (Dev, Ent, etc) and the same information about SSRS.

    Hi @Zolotoy ,

When I was installing SSRS I only has Upgrade option.

Have you previously had a different edition of Reporting Services than the current edition of the database engine.

You have to install the SSRS 2022 using the same Edition as your SQL Server 2022 Edition.

    • If you are running SQL Server 2022 Developer Edition then you have to install SQL Server 2022 Reporting Services with the option Developer Edition.
    • If you are running SQL Server 2022 Evaluation Edition then you have to install SQL Server 2022 Reporting Services with the option Evaluation Edition.
    • If you are running SQL Server 2022 Express Edition then you have to install SQL Server 2022 Reporting Services with the option Express Edition.

You will have to de-install your current SQL Server 2022 Reporting Services and ensure you install the identical Edition.
Please download SQL Server 2022 Reporting Services from the Microsoft Download Center, then install the Reporting Service of the same Edition as your database engine.

    Best Regards,
    Joy

I think what might have happened is that on your SSRS installation, you neglected to select the correct edition of SSRS to be installed. It is on the 2nd or 3rd screen where you select the SSRS Edition to be installed.

    This URL : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/reporting-services-features-supported-by-the-editions-of-sql-server-2016?view=sql-server-ver16

It will highlight the various editions of SSRS and how they match to the edition of the SSRS database instance.
