Migrating files from fileserver to Sharepoint: no files only folders

Question

I want to migrate files and folders from a on-prem fileserver to Sharepoint Online.
The Sharepoint Migration Tool is installed on a server which can succesfully connect to the fileserver.
I can run a migration and it gives the status succeeded. But it did not copy any files, only empty folders.

When I open the ItemFailureReport_R1.csv, all the files are scanned and this error:
SERVER FAILURE Errors or timeout for Server Prcoessing the file: Job Fatal Error 0x01710006

Why are the files not being transferred?

There is a current incident with the SPMT "SP450492"

You can use your admin account to follow up via the link: admin.microsoft.com

Like Sameh said, make sure you are logged into SPMT with an administrator account.
