Hi,
I want to generate on the alerts on the Guest Metrics and have done the following steps are given in help:

  • Enabled guest-level monitoring in Azure VM->Diagnostics settings
  • Selected the performance counters which i wanted (mainly related to memory usage)
  • Under the "Sinks" tab, enabled the "Azure Monitor" sink and clicked "Save".

Now, When trying to create an alert (as shown below), I cannot see the Guest Metrics Signal on which alert needs to be created.

What I am doing wrong?
Is anything else needs to be done to achieve this?

    Hi there,

If you VM has started collecting the guest metrics successfully, you are able to see them in Metrics Storage

If you see Virtual Machine Guest namespace, you are able to create alerts based on these guest metrics. If not -you need to troubleshoot the diagnostics settings (WAD\LAD or AMA agents)

Btw, guest metrics have the following monitoring services called Azure.VM.Windows.GuestMetrics for Windows platfom
