Ubuntu VM Lab crashes when connecting via RDP

I have created a lab plan with 2 custom Ubuntu VMs, and it is all set up with one other user added. When a VM is spun up it takes a minute then says "running" from there click the connect via RDP where it downloads the connection file.
Clicking that starts to join where the login window shows up for XRDP (screenshot below) and after putting in the correct login info the screen goes black and then the RDP app closes and the VM in the lab changes from "running" to "stopped"
I can connect via SSH with no problems, it is just RDP where it crashes. For this lab to work I need RDP, so can not just use SSH.
Any idea what is going on here?
