For a unified group sharepoint site, none of the user is able to edit the page as it is giving message user1 is editing this page. user1 is no more the member of this unified group, neither siteadmin, siteowner or groupadmin. user1 does not exits its disabled account in AD. When other users try to discard user1 's changes, it says it will revert everything back to some previous date. experts guide me onthis

If the ex employee left the office 3 months ago, if we discard then last 3 months data will be lost?

Please go to the "Site Pages" library and "check in" the page edited by another user as the site owner:

When user2 logs in the SharePoint page and user2 is the siteowner/admin
for example
https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/sites/TEST
at the right top corner user2 sees the message user1 is editing this page and its locked with the below message displayed
This page can't be edited now because user1 has it open for editing
Ask user1 to publish the page, or edit the page and discard changes
As the site owner, if you are confident user1's changes are not needed, you can discard them now.
When user2 clicks discard now it shows that it will be reverted back to some previous date

Take backup of the pages, go to pages library and then download the page and then discard the changes. yes you may lose changes but this is the path you have to take

Yes, I understand the issue you are experiencing. This is normal when another user is editing the page.
As a site owner, we can check in the pages forcibly the user is editing, which stores in "Site Pages" library.
Benefit from page auto-saving, there is no content to be lost.
take backup of the page and then discard the change

The page is locked due to user1 was checked out the page when editing. Please backup the page, and use admin to check in/discard check out the page, then other person should be able to edit. Hope the info can be of some help.
