Outlook Mobile app is asking users to set a 8 digit PIN. Even after the Phone PIN has been reset recently and our Endpoint Managers device compliance policy is set to 6. Any ideas?

Looks like Microsoft have just released version 4.2240.4 of the Outlook App to the Play Store and this might have resolved it.

One of our users has reported that they can now go back into Security Settings on their device and change their PIN back to 6 Digits (which matches our policy) vs the 8 Digit PIN they were made to set earlier.

Might be worth getting some of your impacted users to try the same or at least download the update and see if the prompt goes away.

We have been using Intune for a few years. This just started happening. Looks to be in the Outlook droid app update v4.2240.2. Looks like it's wide spread. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/hi-outlook-mobile-app-is-asking-users-to-set-a-8/55aa0552-d316-4fb9-bdb5-e247de84c92e

Thanks PhilScott-9981 I just updated Outlook and it worked. From our findings if you were prompted, but did not reset or added a new PIN, simply update Outlook to 4.2240.4, and reboot. The phone will return to normal.

If you followed the instructions and added a new PIN, Update Outlook to 4.2240.4, reboot. You can then reset your device PIN back to your 6 digits if you changed it.
