Data lifecycle - Retention policy to retain Exchange after user deletion
I want to create retention policy in data lifecycle management, my goal is whenever user with license has been deleted, I want to retain his whole exchange online mailbox for 6 months after that it will be deleted automatically as shown in my configuration below.
Am aware that retention policy will start to trigger after user deletion and unassigned his license
but I get a message that confusing me and didn't make sense to me "Items that are currently older than 6 months will be deleted after you turn on this policy" I need explanation for this message, also am I doing the configuration that meets my goal? I don't want to make eDiscovery hold manually every time. NOTE: most users have M365 Business standard License
