On-prem SharePoint users only get access by next day (overnight)

On a SharePoint 2019 on-prem since a few weeks we have an issue with instant access to the system for newly created users, based on AD-group privileges inheritance.
Usually we create AD users, add them to a certain group which has Edit privileges within our SharePoint sites. After this, the users usually can login to our SharePoint due to membership.

Since a few weeks now, not necessarily each new user, but many of them, cannot access SharePoint based on this group membership until the next day (If I grant access to their particular account it works). On the next day it works then because of group membership - and by this time the user then also gets a user Profile in SharePoint. This leads me to the assumption that some service, which only runs at night, will trigger this. Just running "User Profile Service Application - User Profile ActiveDirectory Import Job" manually is not enough.
Auth method on that web application is Claims Based Authentication with Integrated Windows authentication ok.

Any idea where I should look for?

kind regards,
Dieter
