Signing in into microsoft account for certification

I have registered to one of the Microsoft virtual training days with my college ID and got a chance to write the certification exam with the registered mail. When I try to login with the same college ID, it throws an error that it requires an outlook email or personal email. Please help me resolve this so I can proceed to registration for certification.
