Replacing legacy Teams Room license with new Teams Rooms Basic license?

I received a message that my Neat Bar was using a legacy Teams Room license and that I would need to transition to a Teams Room Basic (or Pro) license in order to be able to managed via its app on my mobile device.

I procured a Teams Room Basic license and applied it to my own M365 account (which is the same account the Neat Bar is associated with) but the Teams Admin portal still claims that under Teams Rooms for Android, that I can't manage or apply updates without a Teams Rooms Pro or Basic license.

Do I need to remove the device completely from Teams Admin and re-add it, in order for the new license to be applied?

    Hi @OneTech IT

    Will the meeting room work before the license is replaced?

    Based on your description, we recommend that you go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and follow the steps below to see if your license is assigned. Also, Teams Rooms Basic licenses can

    only be purchased through the Microsoft 365 admin center. As detailed here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/rooms-licensing

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    2. Provide the admin credentials for your Microsoft 365 tenant.
    3. Go to Users > Active users.
    4. Select the resource account you created earlier.
    5. In the right pane, select Licenses and Apps.

    For more details about Microsoft Teams Rooms requirements, you could refer to this article.

    This is how the device is showing in the Teams admin center. The device wasn't added as a 'resource' but it just directly associated with a user's account, who has a Teams Room Basic license associated with it. Does the device need to be registered as a Resource now, instead of just directly as a 1:1 device for this one user? They are the only user who is using this Teams Room device.

    @SokiGuo-MSFT ,

    Apaprently after 24 hours the Teams Room Basic license finally applied to the device, so apparently it was just a matter of the license application taking long er than normal to sync up.

    Thanks,
