no internet on windows 8 but has on windows 10

I have a gigabyte motherboard pc and i have this usb from work that has windows 8 on it and i simply directly boot windows 8 to it but i cant get internet connection. But, when i try to boot my pc on its HD drive that has Windows 10 it has internet connection. So, I tried the usb (work) on my friend's pc that has asus motherboard and boot it it can get internet connection. I tried copying the BIOS settings that it has but it still doesn't give me internet connection. Does anyone know the reason behind this? Thanks in advance

    My best recommendation is to ensure that you have the necessary driver for that motherboard. It is quite possible that there is a missing driver for ethernet/wifi on your device. Please check ASUS's website for ethernet/wifi drivers, download them to a USB and install them on your device. Then try connecting to the internet.

    Try looking up the specific motherboard that you have on the ASUS website or a search engine.
