Cut Copy Format greyed out in PowerPoint for Mac

Hi,

I have a very annoying issue that happens in powerpoint. This is running on a mac.

After some time working with any deck, my cut copy format buttons gray out and I can then no longer work with the deck as I did before. I get a "bing" out of my computer telling me I can do actions like delete, or copy/paste. I can't delete slides (or paste) with my keyboard, only by right-clicking on the slide and deleting 1 at a time. The only fix is restarting power point (sometimes the whole computer), for it to go away only for it to come back within a short period.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!

    This seems to be an issue with Mac OS (pboard). Please see the following link to kill the pboard process when this happens:
