We are using Sharepoint Migration manager to migrate fileshare to SharePoint and i could not find answers in Ms article.

  1. File count limit: how many number of files cab be migrated in a single task? Is there any limit?
  2. File share size: MS article says file share/single file up to 250 GB of data. It says we can migrate file share size or single file size up to 250 GB. What if my file share has 1 TB of data (all files are <100GB). Will i be able to migrate complete file share of 1 TB in single task??

"Cloud scenarios have a file size limit of 15 GB, while file share migrations support files up to 250 GB in size."
"What is the maximum file size that can be migrated? Answer: In cloud scenarios, the limit is 15 GB. For file share migrations, a file size of 250 GB is supported. "

1.For file count limit, per my knowledge and research, there is no official Microsoft documentation mentions it. In my opinion, there is no limit for file count.

2.For share size, per my knowledge, it does not mean single file size up to 250 GB of data, it means a task size up to 250 GB of data. And at a maximum, only 50 task rows can run simultaneously. This total includes both scanning and migrating. This limit does not apply to file share migration. You could separate 1 TB of data into many tasks (<250 GB).
