Remove Orphaned SIDs from Administrator group on computers

Recently a couple of groups were deleted out of AD that were members of the local administrator group on all of our laptops. I tried to alter the existing GPO that added the groups in the first place by removing those, but it doesn't seem to be taking. Any other suggestions?
