How can I expand a created by SharePoint field without the query bogging down

Hi,

I have about 4k records in a SharePoint online list. I want to extract the email address from the Created By field. I only selected the email address from the expanded field. But the query is taking over 20 minutes to complete. Is there any other work arounds that I am missing? Do I have to extract the email address using a workflow before using power BI?
