[Windows] Outlook Client - Junk Email Folder Missing

Hi,

A user reported their junk email folder in the Outlook client for Windows 10 is missing. This is on a fresh install of Windows 10 (21H2) running a fresh install of Microsoft 365 Apps for business - en-us (16.0.15726.20174). I can see the folder in the web version of Outlook.

I have tried normal troubleshooting, including re-profiling, re-installing, Outlook /resetfolders etc but couldn't get the folder back. Using the software 'MFCMAPI' I can see the junk email folder is visible (under the 'Notes' folder, which is also missing), and when I restore the junk email folder it reappears in Outlook briefly before disappearing.

Any ideas on how to get the folder back?

If the Junk Email folder is not restored, you can try the following steps:

Open Outlook and go to View and click Reset View.
    Click Yes to confirm.
Then click Change View > Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders….
Click Apply view to subfolders and click OK.

    Restart Outlook !

    Hi @Kiain ,

Please click the Junk E-mail folder in MFCMAPI, in the right panel, locate the PR_ATTR_HIDDEN property, check whether the value is the False.
If not, please double click it, uncheck Boolean option to change to False.

I tried both of those suggestions and didn't have any luck, thanks though.

I followed step 2 in the article (https://thefutureofthings.com/17415-how-to-restore-missing-junk-mail-folder-in-outlook-2016/) and have deleted the junk email folder in MFCMAPI. I have been unable to restore it, so now the junk email folder is not visible in MFCMAPI or the Outlook client. I can still see the junk email folder on the web version of Outlook.

    Hi @Kiain ,

You mean, after executing the command to reset the folder, restart the Outlook client, you still can't see the junk email folder?

In this case, it is recommended you create a new profile and re-connect your account to see if it works:
go to Control Panel > Mail > Show profiles > Add, specify a name for new profile, then re-connect your account.
Please let us know if there has such update when you tried these steps.

Quick update - I am still having this issue but the affected user appears to have gone MIA so I haven't been able to troubleshoot further. Looks like it will remain unsolved for now. Thanks for all of your help!
