Hello Team,

We are trying to change primary email address in Office 365 as per email policy. For some reason Office 365 ECP portal is not allowing us to make changes.

We are currently following below mentioned process as a global administrator of our organization to change a primary email address.

  1. login to the exchange admin center (outlook.office365.com/.../) with the admin account.
  2. click recipients > mailboxes.
  3. select the mailbox and edit it.
  4. click email address, select the email address which you want to edit and click the pencil icon.
  5. check make this reply address and save.

Your reply will be highly appreciated.

Seems to work fine here mate. Are you getting any error message or? Don't forget that for a synchronized user, the change must be made in on-premises AD, not the cloud.

You can always use PowerShell too.
