Azure Managed Grafana Issues while retrieving the Azure resource names in alerts

SWAMI 1 Reputation point

Hello all,

Currently we are trying to use Azure managed grafana which uses the upgraded grafana version 9+.

After adding azure data source managed subscription in Azure managed grafana, we are able to create dashboard but, while setting up the alerts, and if any resource meet the threshold values then, in the Notification contact point, the name of the resource(example: virtual machine name) is not visible but only it's value is and, because of this, we can not be able to find out exactly which virtual machine(Azure resource) is sending these alerts

We have done the configuration by following link: in a new window; external. in a new window; external. in a new window; external.

Kindly help us resolving the issue.

    Hi @SWAMI ,

Thank you for posting this question here. I understand that you have configured Alerting rule in Grafana and are using contact points to define how your contacts are notified when an alert fires.

In this scenario, it seems that the messaging template has not been configured properly to include all the details. I would suggest looking at the following links from Grafana docs to get an understanding about it -

    Message templating
    Example of a custom template

You could connect with the Grafana community using this link to review previous similar discussions and ask a new question.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
