If I update an app with a different version and then want to add that version as the dependency on an application and remove the older dependency version will that cause the application to reinstall and update to the new dependency?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
Agree with EswarKoneti, the revision update will not cause the application to reinstall, it only check the detection method.

Application installation depends on the detection method you configure. Any app that install, will first check the detection rule, if it matches, skip the installation and report as success.
