Lately, when I try to share a file with OneDrive (right-clicking a file from Windows Explorer and selecting "Share"), the share dialog hangs, i. e. the blue circle keeps rotating, but nothing happens even after several minutes.
I am using version 22.077.0410.0007 x64, sine this is the latest version I am able to install on my computer running Windows 7 x64.
This problem has been happening only for the last two weeks or so without any changes on my end.
Synching files otherwise works OK (and is still supported for business accounts).
The same thing occurs when I try to share a file from with an Office365 application, for example a Microsoft Excel worksheet located on Sharepoint.
I am using Office365 version 2002 with latest updates installed.
This has only been happening for the past two weeks or so, without any changes to applications on my end. It also seems that Outlook's communication with the Exchange server occasionally hangs and that the communication with the IMAP server outlook.office365.com is delayed.
Have there been any changes on Microsoft's side that could be causing these issues?

Just-as anticipated, it was OneDrive acting up all over again.
Re-attempted using it a couple hours later, and it finally decided to resume working again...for now. Who knows when next it'll decide to stop working...classic Microsoft.

Hello, I can confirm the exact same issue as this user.
I can reproduce it across 3 different brand-new laptops.
Windows 11, all apps are fully updated.
I can confirm that it does work for a few excel file where the share will function properly, but it doesn't work for others.

In the meantime, the Outlook issue seems to be resolved. Outlook communicates with the Exchange server promptly once again, and also the IMAP server connects without delay. It was probably some issue on the server side or perhaps something on my organization's side.
The OneDrive issue remains.
I do not use dedicated antivirus software. Tried disabling the Windows Firewall, no effect. I also uninstalled and re-installed OneDrive to no effect. Similarly, repairing the Office installation had no effect.
There must be some way to diagnose the issue. Is there perhaps a log that can be made of what happens when the "Share" window opens (either from Office or Explorer/OneDrive)?
Log tools can be downloaded and crawled online, such as Fidder, and using process monitor is also a good choice.
I used Process Monitor and have saved an event log that includes operations with OneDrive.exe. I could upload it for diagnosis, but I am not sure whether it would give a clue as to why the sharing window hangs.
It seems OneDrive logs the information in a log file, currently "SyncEngine-2022-11-20.2243.3788.4.aodl", located under the AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\logs\Business1 folder. I don't know how to read this log file.

Thanks, but rather than consulting phone support to view OneDrive logs, I would appreciate posting the log so that someone more knowledgeable could look at it.
Additionally, it would help if someone else was able to test file sharing with a configuration similar to my system (same OS / Office / OneDrive version) to see whether the issue presents itself on other systems as well.

to upload log files to the forum, but there will be format restrictions for log files, the .aodl format is not supported, it is recommended that you package and upload files under Business1.
It is also recommended that you use Fidder to crawl and upload files. You can also call to open a Premier-level case, and there will be senior technical support staff to assist you in solving the problem.
Yeah, I too am currently having the exact same issue on my Surface Pro 2 running Windows 8.1.
I experienced the exact same issue a few months ago on this same setup, and back then, it just resumed working again after like 2 or 3 weeks of hampering productivity. No change on my end before it decided to stop working, and no change on my end when it decided to resume working. Just OneDrive acting up all over again.
Maybe in another 2 - 3 weeks it'll choose to resume working again...

I was just about to do the upload... but unbelievably, sharing just started working again, both from Explorer and from within the Office app!
I will get back to this issue and post if the previous behavior repeats itself.

Also experiencing this on a Windows 365 Desktop. When the user remotes into the desktop, the share dialog hangs. When I remote into the desktop using ConnectWise Control, the dialog window appears normally. I have rebooted the desktop as well.
