filter string column

this data flow filter expression is to filter data for the previous month
do you see why it says data flow expression should return boolean?

addMonths(toDate(DateColName, 'yyyy-MM-dd'), -1)

I just tried the expression you mentioned above with a dummy date, and it evaluates without any errors. I don't see anything wrong with it. But if you are blocked with it, please do share screenshot of complete expression and the error message so that we can assist accordingly.

A similar requirement has been answered in this thread - check if data is for previous month. Please review the provided solution and let us know if that helps to achieve your requirement.
