Visual Studio Extension Tool Window but a console window

I'm looking to create a visual studio extension that is like a console window so that the user can utilize our command line interface tool within the Visual Studio IDE. Something similar to the Package Manager Console where it is part of the Visual Studio IDE and it is a console/command window. I was unable to find any information on how to do something like this. If anyone can provide help, I'd appreciate it.

I am using Visual Studio Enterprise 17.4. Yes, I have read that link and many pages on the subject within the VSExtensibility repo on github.

If I understand things correctly, I need to extend the Command window (IVsCommandWindow), but I don't see anything in the docs on how exactly to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
