Vicky, the information provided didn't answer the question AT ALL.
The OP was asking how to convert existing roaming profiles to local profiles, not how to deploy roaming profiles in an AD domain.
Re-read the OP, and respond to it.
I have the same problem.
Windows 10 - cannot change a profile from Roaming to Local on the client
Hello! I have a user who is unable to switch the profile on their notebook from roaming to local. He is running Windows 10 Ent. 2004. We do have his AD account set up with a roaming profile path as we do make use of roaming profiles in our organization for desktop PC users. He has both a desktop as well as a domain attached notebook. In the past, with Windows 7, I was able to set up a users' notebook to use a local profile, even when their AD account has a profile path indicated. Every time that I try and switch the profile to local and click OK, it sets back to roaming when I go back in to confirm the change.
Of course, this becomes an issue when the user takes the notebook offsite - whenever he logs on, he gets an error that the profile cannot be synchronized. We do want to maintain separate user profiles for notebooks and desktops.
Am I doing something wrong? Or have things changed with regards to profiles with Windows 10?
Thank you!

2022-03-14T16:41:45.88+00:00 I am having the same issue in my domain. Those who already had the profile set to local before upgrading still have it set. Anyone new can not switch profile from roaming to local on the laptops.
