How to add Nextcloud shared calendar to Windows Calendar client?

Hi there,

in our organization we are using a common calendar, shared from a Nextcloud instance. The link is usable right away in Apple's iCal, and only asks for a login/password pair (the one from Nextcloud). That's the expected behavior.

However in Windows Calendar, I can't see the same "Subscribe to calendar" command. In "Parameters", there's only an "Add account" command, and that's not what I want to do.

Any insights?

Subscribing to a Calendar is present in Apple but not in Windows.
You can subscribe to iCal calendars directly inside of your Nextcloud.

Well the point is to subscribe to the calendar in a native Windows app, not subscribe to it on the original platform.

    Hello there,

Found this answer in a thread and it might be helpful for you. For some reason, Windows 10 doesn't offer CalDAV support. It does, however, offer support for iCloud accounts which use CalDAV. You can use the Windows 10 calendar app with NextCloud calendar by tweaking a few settings.

    Follow these steps:

1-Log into Nextcloud and go to Calendar. Click on Settings & import, and copy the "iOS/OSX CalDAV" address.

2-Open the Windows 10 Calendar app. Go to settings->manage accounts and click "Add Account". Select iCloud.

3-Enter an email, name and password. Don't worry about what you enter-it'll all be changed later. Then, click Save.

4-Click on the iCloud account you created, and click on "Change mailbox sync settings".

5-Scroll all the way down to the bottom, and click "Advanced mailbox sync settings". The menu should expand.

6-Copy and paste your iOS/OSX CalDav address in the "Calendar server (CalDAV)" field. Then, click done.

7- Enter your Nextcloud username and password, and change the account name to whatever you want.

8-Click done, and it should synchronize. If not, inspect your account settings and re-enter your password.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
