I can not open few of Windows10 Features in Control Panel!

Hi Everyone:

I have upgraded my Windows version to 2004(OS Build 1904.1) and since then I can not open the device manager
and Administrative tools features from within the control panel and windows displays a dialog box with this content :

User Account Control

This App. has been blocked for your protection.

An administrator has blocked you from running this app. For more information contact Administrator.

MMC.EXE

Publisher: Unknown

File Origin: Hard Drive on this computer

Program Location" C:\Windows\system32\mmc.exe" C:\Windows\sysytem32\devmgmt.msc

I changed the permission settings for that file but it didn't work. So, could you tell me how I can get the Device Manger and other blocked features running normal again.

Try backing down UAC setting.

Hi,

I would add other suggestion if DSPatrick's is not work for you or you do not want turn off UAC. (By the way, we are not recommend to turn off UAC for system protection.)

On your Windows 10 computer click Start > gpedit.msc. This opens Local Group Policy Editor.
Navigate to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options.
In the right pane look for policy setting – User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode. Either right click the setting and click Properties or just double-click the policy.

Change the security setting to Disabled. Click OK. And restart your computer.

Hi:
I even changed the user name and changed it to a standard type and did not set a password. Now, anytime I want to make changes to user account or elsewhere, it displays a dialog box asking me for username and password. could you tell me how to fix this issue and rid of the password request?

Hi @Reza Niazi

There is no need to change user name and user type. Not set password is also not recommend as it have risk to leak your personal data. As you are login with standard user account, so it will require for administrator user privilege if you make any modification for existing system.

Did you try my suggestion to modify group policy and restart?
If yes, would you run command line "gpresult /h c:\gp.html" as administrator and upload generated gp.html file here?

Hi,
Yes, I tried to modify the group policy through typing gpedit.msc command in Run but still displayed the same message. I even tried netplwiz command but it did the same thing again. No matter from where and how I tried to change the group policy or change user password or name, I could not get through and it displayed a dialog box requesting password for user account which I did not assign any to it.
If there is any other suggestion you may have please let me know about it.

Hi,

The existing account you logged in is an administrator account or local account? Make sure you are using administrator account to process all the suggestions.

If you couldn't open them with your administrator account after you enter admin account and password in popped up windows, we could enable build-in administrator account with the following command line:
Open "command prompt" as administrator and run "net user Administrator password /active:yes" to enable build-in administrator.
Then logoff and logon with build-in administrator to make changes in gpedit.msc
