Windows 10 hotspot - Use 80 Mhz channel

Hello,

i replaced my old Netgear WIFI Stick (official didnt supported hotspots but still kinda worked) with a brand new Intel AX200 (Asus PCE-AX58BT). However when i create a 5Ghz Hotspot i only see a 20Mhz bandwith with my analyse tools. In the adapter settings i use the "auto" setting which should give me the full 80Mhz.

I tried installing different drivers (from Asus side, newest intel drivers) but it still doesnt work.

I read online that some people also have simular problems, does Windows 10 actually support more as 20Mhz Hotspot or is the Hotspot a kinda dead feature?

Do you have an idea what i could do?

    Hi Silram,
    Does your router support WI-FI 6 (802.11ax) standard?
    Go to router> wireless settings> channel width, try to manually set 80MHZ.

    I am using my Windows 10 as a Hotspot...so in this way my windows 10 is the router...and my problem is that i cant set the channel width there

    Hi Silram,
    Hosted Network is deprecated in Windows 10 and I don't think your new Intel AX200 adapter supports that functionality, you can check this by typing netsh wlan show driver command in PowerShell.
    What is the wi-fi standard in use of the Netgear Wifi Stick? Surely the adapter is still supported in Windows 10 even though it's an older model.If this adapter allows you the full 80MHz channel bandwidth for mobile hotspot, use this.

    my old netgear stick dont support 802.11ac and sometimes its crashes and i have to remove and put it back again.

    Why is Hosted Network deprecated in Windows 10? Do they dont want us doing it?

    What should i do if i wanna use the new card?
