The Azure portal test console isn't supported in API Management

Hi there,
API Development team are reporting issue with API Test button on Management Console that used to work but suddenly stopped working.

The message associated with the inactive button says "The Azure portal test console isn't supported in API Management services deployed in an internal virtual network"

API Management instance is indeed running in an internal virtual network mode but is accessible from the public internet via Application Gateway.

API Test functionality is available via Developer Portal on the same instance.

We would like to be able to carry on testing via Management Console but at the moment this is not possible.

We have tried clearing cache on the client (web browser) but that seems ineffective.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
jussi

Hi @Jussi Heinonen Thanks for reaching out. This seems to be an ongoing issue due to recent update of API Management extension for Azure Portal. The engineering team is developing a Hotfix for the problem that will be deployed over the next few days. Tentative ETA for Hotfix deployment is November 21st, 2022. The fix will enable the test console for services deployed
    in internal VNET.

As a workaround, you can use the Developer Portal test console or any other client (e.g., Postman) to call/test APIs.

Let me know incase of further queries, I would be happy to assist you.
