Hello,
I have a small business with my dekstop win 10 pro (21H1, LENOVO / Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz / RAM 16,0 GB / 64bit OS ).
All I need is the possibility to have one RDS simultaneously with the user on the desktop. I suppose I need to reinstall my OS to Windows server. After a few days of researching, I can't identify the right product I need.
All I need is win 10 pro, that would let work 2 simultaneously users at once (one on the desktop and one per RDS). other than that, the functions of win 10 pro are enough, and also, the business programs runs only on win 10.
Is windows Server 2022 Essential the correct OS I need? Could you, please, help me specify the correct product I'm searching? Do I need a product that says exactly LENOVO Win server?
Thank you.
Kind ragards
M.

Hello,
The Win 2k22 essential I think is enough, you can check the following link for more info:
https://www.scan.co.uk/buying-guides/windows-server
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-essentials/get-started/get-started
You can always download the trial version to check if it fits you.
Also windows 10 is a desktop OS and does not have any feature for concurrency.
I hope I help....
Hello there,
For concurrent RDS you might need a server license. By default, the system supports 2 simultaneous sessions. That means, if you had a user account log on to the system locally, then, there is only one user allowed to establish a remote desktop connection to the system at the same time.
You can open the Task Manager – Users tab, to check the current log-on user accounts and sessions.
If you want to allow more than 2 simultaneous sessions, RDS deployment with appropriate RDS CALs installed is necessary.
For example, if you need more than 2 connections to your Windows Server 2016 from the internal device, then, the below RDS serve role might be necessary:
