API Managements Developer Portal URL issue...

Hi,

We have API Managements in two regions. The second region is in standby. Clearly the Dev Portal URL in both needs to be the same. Which is fine, but it leaves us with an internal issue i.e., if the domain is pointing to one region but internally, we want to access the other region for testing etc., how do we achieve this? Multiple gateway URLs can be defined in the setup, but dev portal URL limit is only one. Is there a standard solution for this issue?

Thank you in advance.

@MO-64 Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A. Azure API Management supports multi-region deployment only for Gateway component. Management plane and developer portal remain hosted only in the primary region and hence secondary region is not available for you to test. The same has been described in docs: About multi-region deployment.

As mentioned in docs, if the primary region goes offline, the APIM management plane and developer portal become unavailable and the secondary region can serve only API requests.
