Using Outlook App on Intune managed devices with a Exchange On Premises (Not Exchange online)

We are currently in the process of migrating our Android and iOS Smart devices onto Microsoft Intune. We are looking to deploy the outlook app to these devices but are running into authentication errors during sign in.
We currently do not use Exchange online but rather have Exchange on-prem. I can see that the outlook app is behaving differently on an Intune managed device as compared to a normal device, as its already pre-populating the registered users email address and restricting us to sign in through office 365 only (instead of being able to sign in through exchange). Unfortunately, this will not work for us due to not being on exchange online.
From the screenshot provided, it seems like we are one of the organisations that utilise Office 365 features and an exchange on prem solution. I've tried to override the authentication error by using app configuration policies targeted to the outlook app to see if I can resolve this through applying Basic Authentication as opposed to Modern, but have had no luck.
I'm hoping somebody has an idea on what we can do to resolve this? Is there some sort of connector to link Office 365 to Exchange On-prem or any other solution which does not require migrating to Exchange Online? I really am trying to avoid using Native Mail applications but may need to resort to this if no solution is found.
