I know that it's possible to create an event via Outlook calendar and sync that in Teams calendar.

    Hi @Georgios Vasilopoulos

Do you mean to create a live event in a Teams calendar?

You can create a live event directly in Teams Calendar. If you want to create a live event, you need to have the following things. Your IT admin can provide more information.

    • A Office 365 Enterprise E1, E3, or E5 license or a Office 365 A3 or A5 license.
    • Permission to create live events in Microsoft Teams admin center.
    • Permission to create live events in Microsoft Stream (for events produced using an external broadcasting app or device).
    • Full team membership in the org (can’t be a guest or from another org).
    • Private meeting scheduling, screensharing, and IP video sharing, turned on in Team meeting policy.

For more details about scheduling a Teams live event, you could refer to: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/schedule-a-teams-live-event-7a9ce97c-e1cd-470f-acaf-e6dfc179a0e2

You can try setting up a meeting from the calendar in outlook using the same user id. You will find a toggle button for creating it as a Teams meeting or just a normal meeting.

Fellow user with same annoyance, but I found a workaround finally. If you create a calendar event, like a personal event you don’t want a teams meeting attached to, via mobile device (mine is iPhone), you’ll need to edit the “Description” in the event. Just delete everything entered automatically for details on the Teams Meeting. Then, save. When you look at it again you can verify it’s been removed by looking at your new location, which should be blank.

If you do it via PC, I’m pretty sure it’s easier. There’s an Appointment tab at the top of the event that let’s you make changes. Look for the location (Teams Meeting) icon. It should be an upside down raindrop, probably blue-ish if active with a meeting. Click on it to turn off the automatic meeting generation for that event. Then save.
