I am running windows server 2019 server datacenter edition and I have windows update settings configured as manual. After installing windows update manually, my servers get restart automatically based on the active hours setting. How can I stop or change this behavior as I don't want to restart the server automatically and I will do the restart on my own;

    Afraid that setting only controls when updates can be installed automatically. As to work-around the better option is to not install the update until a reboot can be accomplished.

    Can u please confirm the "No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations" - What happens if there is no user logged on to the server after windows update, will the server get restart automatically.?

    Well it may depend on other settings but since you told us this one is set to Disabled then nothing will happen for monthly rollups / security updates but note that critical updates could override this.

    You could enable this one.

    If the "Configure Automatic Updates" policy is disabled, this policy has no effect". I have not configured automatic updates policy, my windows update setting is manual

    Then the simplest solution is to not install them until a later time when you can restart. Windows is in a fragile state after updates and before the restart.

    I got this only after installing (and using) Winndows Admin Center. GPO, Registry and every other method didn't work
