Hi
I seem to be getting the following error on a few machines when deploying office updates. Has anyone had any experience resolving this issue - looking at the logs I can see the update policy implementing the update. Is there a specific route\issue I can investigate to try and resolve?
Thanks

    Hi, @Simon Schuck

The error is obvious. It's the standard error shown when a GPO is overwriting the local ConfigMgr wsus policy. Make sure that you don't have any custom GPO overwrite it.
You may use RSOP.MSC and gpedit.msc to check GPO following this article:

The error translates to Access Denied. Maybe related to requirement of closing of Office apps. Have you looked into that?

This is whats confusing me, the error and the trigger. The deployment would run under the same conditions for all clients so in theory access denied would happen for all.

Its almost as if the update doesnt get a chance to run properly - as soon as you manually trigger the update it throws the error. (Tested with all Office applications closed and still errors)

    Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Also just to check - as part of an ADR the office updates will download to the client. Where does it store these downloads - C:\Windows\ccmcache? Or another location?
    Thanks

    Hi, @Simon Schuck

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Yes, the updates should be downloaded to C:\Windows\ccmcache.
Can the few machines get other updates correctly?
You may follow this guidance for troubleshooting:
