Problem with IIS Windows Authentication using IIS10. IIS log shows error 401 2 5 codes.

Hi,

I have a web application developed in .NET 4.5.2 deployed on IIS10. There is an XML file set with Windows Authentication and disabled all other authentication rules. My problem is when I access the XML file through the browser it shows the credential pop-up window. I enter the correct password but the pop-up keeps appearing asking for credentials even though I enter correct credentials. I enabled the IIS logging and get the 401 2 5 codes. The application is added int trusted site but still getting the same error.

The application works fine on all other clients except one.

Please help me diagnose the issue.

401 2 5 means that the user did not pass the authentication or authorization rules. If you are using Windows authentication, please check the local intranet and domain configuration. Of course, you need to check that the user is allowed by authorization rules and NTFS permissions. Also have you configured enable windows authentication in IIS? Whether the Windows Authentication module in the ApplicationHost.config file or the Web.config file is valid?
