Authenticator not working as my autofill software of choice

I am using a Samsung Galaxy z flip3 5g Verizon phone running Android version 12. Authenticator used to work quite well until 3 weeks ago. I have received a system update since that time that did not fix Authenticator.

Authenticator is currently successfully autofilling addresses and payment sources but rarely works for passwords. I am using Chrome version 107.0.5304.105 as my internet software.

I have spent hours working with all the related videos and documents I could find to resolve this issue and it remains unresolved.

●I have Uninstalled and re-installed Authenticator.
●I have updated my Microsoft password
●I have used the search function in settings to assign Authenticator as my password vault and as my autofill software of choice.
●I have contacted Microsoft via phone and have worked with 3 departments. They all took down my information and passed me to the next department.
●The 3rd department told me to access this forum.

I am in need of technical instructions that will assist me in finding where I have missed setting up Authenticator to autofill passwords. Thank you in advance.

Might try turning off two-factor at service provider, then remove the account from the device (Settings\Passwords & accounts) then try setting up two-factor again at service provider.

I have Uninstalled and re-installed Authenticator.

You can restore from backup (assuming there was one) but make sure no accounts have been added to the newly install app. Then sign on with recovery account to do the restore.

You can recover your account credentials from your cloud account, but you must first make sure that the account you're recovering doesn't exist in the Microsoft Authenticator app. For example, if you're recovering your personal Microsoft account, you must make sure you don't have a personal Microsoft account already set up in the authenticator app. This check is important so we can be sure we're not overwriting or erasing an existing account by mistake.
