That doesn't even try to answer the OP's question, which concerns when the next single-install version of Microsoft Office will be released, not what the latest released version might be.
I think he means whether there will be a successor of Office 2021 as a one-time purchase option. However, I am not optimistic as Microsoft has changed the name of Office to Microsoft 365. There might be LTSC versions of the office suite but that will be an enterprise-only option. For consumers like us, this will mean Microsoft Office will become a subscription-only product after the support of Office 2021 ends in 2031.
