Xamarin Form Android compilation fails - Error APT2259

Hi,

I developed a Xamarin forms application, iOS completed and approved by Apple. I have been trying to compile Android project but it keeps failing with the following errors:

Error APT2259: 'textEnd' is incompatible with attribute iconGravity (attr) flags [start=1, textStart=2]. (APT2259)
Error APT2061: failed linking file resources.

I have removed and reinstated all Nugets too.

Could you please advice how I can fix the above errors?

Do you have Xamarin.Android.Support packages in your project?

If so, please remove all Xamarin.Android.Support packages, then close your VS, delete all of bin and obj folders in all project folders, then open your project with VS and install AndroidX packages as required.

I removed Xamarin.Android.Support and other nugets Xamarin.Android.xxxxx and it didn't help. The only one that exists is Xamarin.Android.Google.BillingClient.

Should I remove the above nuget too?

You can create a new project, then install all of your nugget package and release it, is that error missing?

Please share your installed nugget package list and VS version, I will try to produce this issue.

I Have the same issue and i cannot figure out what to do, I Have followed the steps you mentioned but i have not got any solution to my problem

I attached images from Nugets. iOS takes less Nugets and in Android, most of the nugets installed by other nugets.

I created a new project and installed the nugets, I get the same errors.

I am targetting Xamarin.Froms 5, and most of the AndroidX nugets are not compatible with Xamarin.Forms 5.

The VS for Mac version is 17.4

Could you share your Xamarin.Forms version and installed nugget packages?

You can use migrate AndroidX tool in VS, after that, you need to clean solution and rebuild your solution

I used migrate AndroidX tool which adds AndroidX nugets to the project. The Xamarin.Forms version is 5.0.0.2515. Please see the attached images. Everytime I list the NuGets here, the Submit button doesn't do anything.
I removed AndroidX NuGets, then ran the tools. If I try to update AndroidX NuGets, it fails and says it is not compatible with Xamarin.Forms 5.
