Phone Numbers and M365 Business

Greetings,

I work for an MSP in Oklahoma City, and one of our clients has posed a question I can't find any information on. They use M365 Business Voice for their phone service, and they have 6 user licenses right now. One of their employees has left, and they're wanting to remove the extra license so they don't have to pay for it.

The question is this: if they remove that license, will they then lose the phone number that the license was using? Or will they still have the number for a future employee, and just need to relicense the number at that time? They have sequential phone numbers right now and would like to keep them if at all possible.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Jason Mills

Here is a documentation on this topic for your reference: How licensing affects phone number management
    Please refer to this part:

If the license is removed, the phone number would become unassigned in the phone number database.
