We have a bunch of SharePoint list created before 2022 that is getting this error "A Microsoft SharePoint Server State Service error occurred while processing your request. For more information, contact your server farm administrator".
Could someone help us how to resolve this issue? We tried to checked the SharePoint List created this year there's no error.

    Hi @Rollen Magpantay ,

This issue cannot be reproduced from my end. Please check as following to narrow down the issue:

    1. Go to Central Administration –> Manage Service Applications and make sure the State Service is running also check the Associations, if it is associated with “Default” change it to “Custom” and save.
    2. Please check SQL server State Service database, restarted the SQL server.
    3. Please check your SQL free space, probably related to it.

@Rollen Magpantay In SharePoint, State Service is a shared service that is used by the internal office elements like Info Path forms, Workflow forms to store the temporary data in SQL Database.

To narrow down this issue, let's verify the following first:

    1. Did you remember how you created the problematic lists?
    2. Are these lists customized by InfoPath or codes?
    3. Did you do migration on these lists as they are old?
    4. We tried to checked the SharePoint List created this year there's no error. did you do that on the same site with the problematic lists, or different sites?

Please go to Central Administration –> Manage Service Applications and make sure the State Service is started like the below:

If the above doesn't work, please check ULS files to find more information about this error.
