So far I thought that the Windwos Server Core (non-GUI) version does not need any licensing. In the sconfig if I choose display license info, the output shows me, its an Eval edition with 49 days remaining. What happens after the expiration? Can you explain to me, how the Core licensing works? (Not the cpu core the Server Core, non-gui, sorry, but in multiple forums when I ask this question everybody only explains and links documents about CPU core licensing, I would like to know about the NON-GUI version of windows Core licensing)
I need Core because I want to use it for Hyper-V. Currently I have 16 VM on it. But if I need to pay for license I need to migrate to another platform .
I read that server 2022 does not has a Core version, but when I install it has. What was the licensing change between 2019 and 2022?
